The Province will close the black bear hunting season on Haida Gwaii at midnight on Thursday, June 9, 2016.
Hunters are allowed to harvest a total of four black bears during the season. Once the quota is reached, the Province provides 72-hours’ notice in advance of the season closure.
The closure covers Wildlife Management Units 6-12 and 6-13, and is in effect until the spring 2017 hunting season opens.
