Young people of Quesnel will have an opportunity to learn the skills they will need for tomorrow’s in-demand occupations.
WorkBC’s Find Your Fit tour will be making its next stop at the Quesnel Junior Secondary school on Sept. 27, 2016.
Find Your Fit is an interactive event where individuals of all ages can learn about British Columbia’s in-demand careers and test out some of the skills they would need for those occupations. Participants will also get to know career planning tools – such as Blueprint Builder and Career Trek videos – and the job resources and labour market information WorkBC.ca offers.
Parents, teachers and career counsellors (workbc.ca) may benefit, too – by discovering ways to educate and support youth in their career exploration.
The Find Your Fit event will be open to the public from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Find Your Fit is part of B.C.’s Skills for Jobs Blueprint commitment to re-engineer education and deliver the skilled workforce needed in British Columbia’s growing economy. The tour has had more than 150, 000 participants so far, most recently in 100 Mile House.
Quote:
Coralee Oakes, MLA Cariboo North –
“Find Your Fit provides students and parents in Quesnel a hands-on opportunity to learn about the careers that will be in demand in the near future. It’s one way to prepare students today for the nearly 1 million job openings expected in B.C. by 2025.”
