Independent seniors in Okanagan Falls soon will have access to 35 new units of affordable rental housing.
Following the September 2016 announcement of a $500-million investment in affordable rental housing, the British Columbia government has selected South Skaha Housing Society to receive $4.7 million in capital funding toward a new housing project at 5035 Veteran's Way and 1209, 1237 and 1251 Willow St.
BC Housing will work with the society to fully develop the project plans and ensure the proper rezoning and consultation is considered and confirmed before construction.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in summer 2017, with completion projected for summer 2018.
