Premier Christy Clark has issued the following greeting to all British Columbians celebrating the Lunar New Year:

“As we move from the Year of the Goat into the Year of the Monkey, we have much to be grateful for in British Columbia.

“Our province is blessed with a diverse population as well as a strong, diverse and growing economy. As we continue to open new markets and build on our strong cultural and commercial relationships in the Asia-Pacific region, we’re ensuring British Columbia is poised to lead the country in 2016 and beyond. 

“Here at home, British Columbians of Chinese heritage enrich our communities, making them brighter and stronger each day.

“May the Year of the Monkey be a safe, healthy and prosperous one for you and your family.

“Kung Hei Fat Choi and Gong Xi Fa Cai.”
