Premier Christy Clark has issued the following statement marking Passover:
“Tonight at sundown, Jewish families in B.C. and around the world celebrate the beginning of Passover, which commemorates the freedom of their ancestors from slavery in ancient Egypt.
“For centuries, Passover has served as a reminder to treasure what is most important: family, community, and historical memory.
“It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the contributions B.C.’s Jewish community has made to build strong prosperous communities throughout B.C., making our province a better place.
“On this most joyous occasion, I wish all Jewish British Columbians 'Chag Sameach'.”
