Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival:
“Tonight marks the start of the Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival – an important traditional festival that celebrates both the moon and bountiful harvests.
“Celebrated by Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese and many other communities, it is a time for family gatherings that include the lighting of lanterns, and the sharing of tasty mooncakes and legendary stories.
“British Columbians throughout the province will come together to participate in celebrations, admire the full moon, and express gratitude for successes in the past year.
“On behalf of all British Columbians, I extend my best wishes to everyone celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival.
“Happy Moon Festival!”
