The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of two men who died following an industrial accident in New Westminster on Jan. 23, 2016.
They are Yun Zhao Yang, aged 60, of Surrey, and Guiming Chen, aged 65, of New Westminster.
About 1 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2016, Mr. Chen and Mr. Yang were working in the outdoor area of a lumber yard on Duncan Street in New Westminster. Something went wrong and lumber fell on the two. Both were deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and New Westminster Police continue to investigate this incident.
The families of both men have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
