The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident in Duncan on Feb. 18, 2016.
He is Vincent Francis Sampson, aged 54, of Duncan.
Mr. Sampson was a pedestrian near the intersection of Evans and Jubilee Streets in Duncan shortly after noon on Feb. 18, 2016, when he was struck by a pickup truck. He was transported first to Cowichan District Hospital and then airlifted to Victoria General Hospital for more intensive treatment. However, he died in Victoria General Hospital on Feb. 22, 2016.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Sampson’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
