The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who was found floating in the ocean off the Ogden Point breakwater in Victoria on Feb. 29, 2016.
He was Ron Jack Aswoodman, aged 44, of Victoria.
On the morning of Feb. 29, 2016, a pilot boat located a deceased man in the waters of Juan de Fuca Strait off the breakwater. The BC Coroners Service has subsequently identified him as Mr. Aswoodman. It is believed that he died approximately six weeks previously.
The BC Coroners Service and Victoria City Police continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Aswoodman has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
