The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in an avalanche near Sicamous on March 6, 2016.
He was Kevin James Oystryk, aged 34, of Sicamous.
Mr. Oystryk was reported missing after he failed to return as planned from a solo snowmobiling expedition in the Owlhead Mountains near Siacmous on the afternoon of March 6, 2016. He was found on the morning of March 8, 2016, having been struck by an avalanche. He was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Oystryk has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
