The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle-related incident west of Williams Lake on July 2, 2016.
He was Lewis Dwayne Billy, aged 42, of Hanceville, a small community about 90 kilometres west of Williams Lake.
Mr. Billy was the driver and sole occupant of a full-size SUV, which was travelling west on Highway 20 in the early morning hours of July 2, 2016. Just east of Riske Creek, about 50 km west of Williams Lake, the vehicle left the roadway, went into a deep ditch and rolled. Mr. Billy was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Billy has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
