The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following an industrial accident in North Vancouver on July 13, 2016.
He is Costec Chomenko, aged 62, of Surrey.
About 7:35 a.m. on July 13, 2016, Mr. Chomenko was doing maintenance work on a coal loader at Neptune Terminals in North Vancouver when he suffered a fall of more than 10 metres. Mr. Chomenko was rushed to Lions Gate Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival at hospital.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and North Vancouver RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
The family of Mr. Chomenko has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
