The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will be conducting rehabilitation work on the Highway 1 Valleyview overpass in Kamloops, beginning March 29, for five weeks.
The project has been scheduled in order to minimize disruptions but is expected to cause some delays. One lane in each direction will be closed during this time. Temporary Drive BC cameras have been installed to help drivers view conditions and traffic volumes in advance of their commute.
This work is being done to extend the life of the overpass and keep it in good operating condition. This project involves replacing the bridge joints on the overpass, as well as pouring new concrete. As the concrete cures, motorists may notice periods of limited activity. The ministry appreciates the public’s patience while this important work is being completed.
