A new highway camera on Highway 6 in the West Kootenays will help drivers check conditions before they head out, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone announced.
“Weather conditions in this area can change quickly, so it is great that drivers have this additional option of being able to view current conditions and ‘know before you go’,” said Stone. “This camera adds an extra view of Highway 6 between Nakusp and the Fauquier Ferry.”
The camera looks south, and is located on Highway 6 at Burton Main Road, about 22 kilometres north of Fauquier. Fauquier is located on the east side of Lower Arrow Lake along Highway 6.
There are now more than 640 webcam images available province-wide to help drivers. The camera can be viewed online under the Southern Interior tab at: http://www.drivebc.ca/#webcams
