The deadline for the public to provide input on the project to increase safety, improve access to local roads and replace the RW Bruhn Bridge on the Trans-Canada Highway in Sicamous has been extended to Jan. 15, 2017.
Feedback forms, as well as the information presented at the Nov. 15, 2016, public information session are available online on the Public Consultation page: www.gov.bc.ca/bchwy1-projects
The ministry extended the deadline after receiving requests from the community for additional time to provide feedback. The project is early in the planning stages and all feedback from this public engagement will be considered as the ministry moves forward with planning. Technical, environmental and financial information, as well as feedback from local government and First Nations, will be part of the ministry’s considerations.
Results of this public engagement will be posted online and shared with the District of Sicamous to help the municipality frame its own discussion with the community on all of the considerations.
Consultation will continue throughout the project and comments or concerns may be sent to the ministry at any time beyond the current public engagement period, by emailing: rwbruhnbridge@gov.bc.ca
