WorkBC’s Find Your Fit Tour will be in New Aiyansh at Nisga’a Elementary Secondary school on Nov. 14 and open to the public from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“I’m calling on New Aiyansh residents to test drive careers as diverse as software engineer, early childhood educator and welder at the Find Your Fit Tour stop at Nisga'a Elementary Secondary,” said Advanced Education, Skills and Training Minister Melanie Mark. “These careers are needed to help build a bright future here in New Aiyansh and throughout B.C.”
The Find Your Fit Tour stop in New Aiyansh is a great opportunity for students to get an insider’s look at a range of careers, including the skilled trades such as carpenters, electricians and heavy-duty equipment mechanics needed in the Kitimat-Stikine region.
WorkBC’s Find Your Fit is a hands-on experience that allows participants to explore a variety of careers. It also provides valuable information about what jobs will be in high-demand by employers in the region and throughout British Columbia.
Industries, such as tourism, tech and health care will need a broad range of skilled British Columbians. The Find Your Fit Tour stop in New Aiyansh is a unique opportunity to get an insight into careers that are in demand by industries that are important to building a strong, sustainable and innovative economy for the 21st century that works for everyone.
The Find Your Fit Tour builds on the government commitment to provide British Columbians with the services they need by providing them the information to help them make decisions about education and training. The tour will make its way throughout the province in the coming months.
