WorkBC’s Find Your Fit Tour will be in Lillooet at Cayoosh Elementary school on Thursday, Dec. 7, and is open to the public from 3:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Thousands of job openings are expected throughout our province over the next 10 years, and most of these jobs will need post-secondary training and education,” said Melanie Mark, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. “The Find Your Fit Tour stop is a great opportunity for Lillooet residents to get information and hands-on experience about a wide range of careers, from tech to health care through to trades.”
The Find Your Fit Tour stop in Lillooet is a great hands-on experience for students who get an insider’s look at a range of careers - including nurse, computer network technician, web developer, carpenter, electrician and heavy-duty equipment mechanic - that are needed in the southwest region. It also provides valuable information about what jobs will be in high demand by employers throughout British Columbia.
Industries, such as tourism, tech and health care will need a broad range of skilled British Columbians. The Find Your Fit Tour stop in Lillooet is an opportunity to get an insight into careers that are in demand by industries that are important to building a strong, sustainable and innovative economy for the 21st century that works for everyone.
The Find Your Fit Tour builds on the government’s commitment to provide British Columbians with the services they need by providing them the information to help them make decisions about education and training. The tour will make its way throughout the province in the coming months.
