Due to reduced fire activity and recent progress made on the Dunn Lake wildfire by firefighting crews, the BC Wildfire Service has rescinded the area restriction order that was implemented on July 7, 2017, for the area around this fire.
As of noon on Aug. 10, 2017, this order is no longer in effect. Members of the public may once again use the area near Dunn Lake.

The BC Wildfire Service is reminding the public that the Dunn Lake fire is still an active wildfire. People should remain vigilant and exercise caution while travelling in the area. An off-road vehicle (ORV) restriction is currently in effect throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre.
This wildfire is now classified as “under control” and is not expected to spread, but anyone participating in recreational activities around Dunn Lake should be aware that the area is experiencing “high” and “extreme” fire danger ratings.
