Young people of Mount Currie will have an opportunity to learn the skills they will need for tomorrow’s in-demand occupations.
WorkBC’s Find Your Fit tour will be making its next stops at the SASET Career Fair, in the Lil’ Ullus Community Complex on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
Find Your Fit is an interactive event where individuals of all ages can learn about B.C.’s in-demand careers and test out some of the skills they would need for those occupations. Participants will also get to know career planning tools – such as Blueprint Builder and Career Trek videos – and the job resources and labour market information WorkBC.ca offers.
Parents, teachers and career counsellors may benefit, too – by discovering ways to educate and support youth in their career exploration.
The Find Your Fit event will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Find Your Fit is part of B.C.’s Skills for Jobs Blueprint commitment to re-engineer education and deliver the skilled workforce needed in B.C.’s growing economy. The tour has had more than 200,000 participants so far, most recently in Vancouver.
B.C.’s Skills for Jobs Blueprint was recently spotlighted in the BC Jobs Plan five-year update. Since 2014, the Blueprint has been re-engineering the provincial education and apprenticeship systems so students and workers have the skills they need to be first in line for jobs in B.C.’s growing economy.

Jordan Sturdy, MLA for West Vancouver-Sea to Sky –
"Find Your Fit is an excellent opportunity for youth to access information on a variety in-demand careers. We need an educated and skilled work force to meet the diverse needs across B.C. So, if you live in Whistler, Pemberton or Lil’Wat, check out the program at Ullus Community facility in Mount Currie. You might find your future.”
