HQ Vancouver’s success in promoting trade and investment in British Columbia is being recognized on an international scale, having just received two awards at the International Economic Development Council Awards, announced Jobs, Trade and Technology Minister Bruce Ralston.

“Congratulations to HQ Vancouver for being recognized for its excellent work in promoting and attracting trade and investment to B.C. Its success is a clear indication that multinational companies have confidence in the B.C. economy and the multitude of supportive tax and business incentives offered here,” said Ralston.

HQ Vancouver won the awards in Toronto on Sept. 19, 2017, for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Marketing, best in show overall and the Gold Award for its “This is My HQ” profile series, which features CEOs of multinational companies headquartered in B.C. discussing the benefits of being located here.

“The companies profiled by HQ Vancouver represent a variety of sectors and have global reach, providing credibility and a model for other companies to follow suit,” said George Chow, Minister of State for Trade. “Who better to promote the benefits of B.C.’s access to talent, time zone and enticing tax incentives than companies already thriving here?”

HQ Vancouver is a three-way partnership between the B.C. government, the federal government and the Business Council of British Columbia and aims to attract more international head offices to British Columbia.
