Bruce Ralston, Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, has issued the following statement on Global Entrepreneurship Week:
“British Columbia was built on the dreams and aspirations of entrepreneurs who conceived an idea and turned it into opportunities for the benefit of many.
“Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 13-19, celebrates the spirit of innovation and job creation and inspires collaboration among entrepreneurs around the globe and throughout B.C.
“Our province is blessed with countless innovators whose efforts and vision are vital to our prosperity. The B.C. government values entrepreneurs and supports their ambitions through several programs and projects, including the Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit and our recent 20% reduction in the small business corporate income tax rate.
“We are also launching the Small Business Task Force, Emerging Economy Task Force and Innovation Commission to help business thrive and stimulate the B.C. economy well into the future.
“Global Entrepreneurship Week is an opportunity to strengthen business ties, initiate new ventures and encourage anyone with a dream to take the steps toward making it a reality.”
