The following statement was issued to mark the beginning of Passover:

“The story of Passover is ancient, but it still resonates today for Jewish families and communities, here in British Columbia and around the world.

“As families gather around the Seder table, they will read from the Haggadah, recalling the epic story of the Exodus and observing traditions honoured for thousands of years.

“This Passover, let us also celebrate the Jewish community’s immense contributions to British Columbia, and resolve to stand together for the diversity that makes our province great.

“To all those celebrating, Chag Pesach Sameach.”
