The BC Coroners Service is investigating the death of a 2 year old Chetwynd child that occurred the evening of Jan. 7, 2017, at BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) in Vancouver. The child had been admitted to the hospital in Chetwynd in the early hours of Jan. 7, and later transferred to BCCH.

The BC Coroners Service is in the early stages of their investigation and all indications are of death due to a disease process. The Northern Health Authority has been advised. The public will be informed if there is any risk to public health or safety.
