The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is asking for feedback from Chase-area residents on the four-laning project planned for the Trans-Canada Highway from Hoffman’s Bluff to Jade Mountain.
The public is invited to an open house on Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Chase Community Hall, 547 Shuswap Ave., Chase. Ministry staff will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. For those unable to attend, information presented will be posted online at the start of the information session at: www.gov.bc.ca/bchwy1-projects
The input gathered will be used by the ministry to understand local concerns and further refine the project’s design.
The project involves widening approximately 12 kilometres of highway from Hoffman’s Bluff to Jade Mountain, installing a median barrier and improving access to the community.
Accelerating Highway 1 upgrades between Kamloops and the Alberta border is a priority for the ministry and is supported by the Budget 2017 Update, with $273 million over the next three years.
