The public is invited to attend a drop-in information session on Tuesday, Nov. 28, about proposed Highway 1 improvements in Salmon Arm.
Ministry staff will be at the open house to provide information and answer questions. Feedback will be collected until Dec. 17, 2017. The input gathered will be used by the ministry to understand local concerns and further refine the project’s design.

The project involves:
- four-laning approximately six kilometres of highway with a better alignment;
- building a new four-lane bridge over the Salmon River;
- improving access to the community for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists; and
- installing median barrier.
Accelerating Highway 1 upgrades between Kamloops and the Alberta border is a priority for the ministry, and is supported by government’s 2017 budget update with $273 million over the next three years.
