WorkBC’s Find Your Fit event will be in Queen Charlotte at Gidgalang Kuuyas Naay Secondary on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. It will be open to the public from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“Getting a chance to test-drive so many careers all in one place, and finding out what training and education you need, is what makes the Find Your Fit event so great,” said Melanie Mark, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. “Our economy needs it all - from nurses to child-care workers to the trades. This is an opportunity for people in Queen Charlotte to see which career is the best fit for them."
Students can visit up to 16 career-activity stations where they can take part in hands-on, career-related activities like creating digital graphics, completing an electrical circuit and taking someone’s blood pressure. These activities will help students uncover their strengths and interests, giving them the knowledge they need to get started with their career planning. They can then move on to a labour market information station, where they can dig deeper into a career of their choice.
