Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture, has issued the following statement encouraging British Columbians to support B.C. agriculture producers and processors this holiday season:
“This weekend, many British Columbians will be making the trek to their local grocery store to ensure they have everything they need for their holiday meals next week.
“As you walk up and down the aisles searching for all the items on your shopping list, consider reaching for B.C. when crossing off those items.
“There are so many local options to choose from when shopping this holiday season.
“From B.C. fruit and veggies, to B.C. ham and poultry, to raising your glass with a tasty made-in-B.C. beverage, B.C.’s bounty is beautiful!
“Our government brought back the popular Buy BC program, which ensures local products are easy to identify so you are better able to support your neighbours and local economies throughout the province.
“The holidays are the perfect time to enjoy local products. Please take the opportunity this season to share your B.C. favourites with family and friends.
“A big thank you to B.C.’s agriculture sector for the incredible variety of products they provide us.
“From my family to yours, happy holidays!”
