Projects awarded funding from first intake of the ORV Trail Fund

Coquitlam Eagle Mountain Moto Club, Eagle Mountain Provincial Trail Planning Project - $2,000

The contribution will go toward the ongoing development and maintenance of trails on Eagle Mountain with the goal of making the trail more suitable for all users.

Fort St. James Snowmobile Club, Trail Restoration Project - $13,655

To improve safety, four deteriorating bridges will be re-built. The trail will also be cleared of overgrown brush and fallen trees, which impede access to about 40 kilometres of the trail.

Hope Fraser Valley Dirt Riders’ Association, B.C. Nickel Mine Trail Safety and Signage - $3,750

A safe and easy-to-follow loop will be made, using existing trails, to avoid an active construction area. An information kiosk will be re-built, along with new maps outlining the areas that do not allow traffic. An archeological assessment will also be completed.

Kamloops Snowmobile Association, Trail Maintenance, Phase 1 - $20,000

Two shelters and two outhouses will be built on the trail to improve the riding experience.

Maple Ridge Blue Mountain Motorcycle Club, Spiney Norman Trail Hardening and Bridging - $3,675

Bridge upgrades and maintenance of the trail will be completed, including water re-direction to prevent pooling. Brush will also be cleared to prevent riders from disturbing the surrounding vegetation.

Southern Okanagan Dirt Bike Club Society, Oliver Mountain ORV Park - $1,762

Signs will be produced for the new Oliver Mountain ORV area. Trail stakes will be also be added to identify the trail.

Prince George ATV Club, George Creek Bridge and Price George/ Wells ORV Trail Remediation - $15,000

A bridge will be built over George Creek, and the trail will be repaired to provide for a safer ride.

Prince George Tabor Mountain Recreation Society, Tabor Mountain Trail Rehabilitation Program - $20,000

Maintenance will be completed to improve the trail’s longevity. The society will also be promoting sustainable recreation efforts and environmental stewardship practices.

Sicamous – Eagle Valley Snowmobile Club, Trail Brushing - $9,600

Clearing and maintenance of 21 kilometres of trails will allow access for grooming equipment to safely access emergency shelters and for trail users to access the backcountry.

Squamish Dirt Bike Association, Lava Flow Trail Maintenance - $5,000

The trail surface requires levelling to provide a smoother ride. Boulders will also be placed along the trail to improve drainage.

Valemount and Area Recreation Development Association, Allan Creek Day Use Shelter Construction - $5,000

A new day-use shelter will be built to replace the old shelter, which will provide a safer recreational experience.
