Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement in honour of Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan:
“On behalf of all British Columbians, I would like to extend my best wishes to Muslim people in B.C., and around the world, as we celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan.
“Ramadan is a time of sacrifice and compassion, forgoing the things people often take for granted, as a reminder to be kinder and more generous.
“The values of unity, charity and peace celebrated on Eid al-Fitr are universal. Our government shares these values.
“Our goal is to help lift people up, so everyone in B.C. has the opportunities they need to succeed.
“We celebrate this joyous occasion with you, and we will continue to work together to make B.C. a safe, inclusive province for everyone.
“Eid Mubarak.”
