Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement in recognition of the Mid-Autumn Festival:
“As the harvest moon rises over the province next week, Chinese communities throughout British Columbia will come together to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is a time of abundance and a recognition of all that we have to be thankful for in our lives.
“Many will celebrate Mid-Autumn by gathering with multiple generations of family and friends to share delicious meals, spend time together and enjoy traditional mooncakes, which symbolize harmony and unity.
“I’m proud that British Columbia is such a diverse and inclusive province, which is made possible when we open our hearts and minds to the traditions, history and values of cultures other than our own. By learning about what others cherish and celebrate, we deepen and enrich our own lives.
“Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!中秋節快樂!”
