Premier John Horgan has released the following statement in honour of B.C. Multiculturalism Week, Nov. 18-24, 2018:
“During B.C. Multiculturalism week, we celebrate the diverse, inclusive, multicultural society we are so lucky to live in.
“Our history has been shaped by the people who have come together to build this province, and our communities are enriched every day by the cultural traditions and celebrations we share.
“As we celebrate diversity and multiculturalism, we also stand together and speak out against racism, discrimination, intolerance and hate that is spreading around the world.
“To promote and protect human rights, our government has introduced legislation to establish a human rights commission for B.C. It’s an important part of creating a more inclusive and just society for all British Columbians.
“Our government will always stand up for the values of equality, diversity and respect that British Columbians share. We will keep working together to build a better, more inclusive province, to make life better for every person in every community.”
