The Government of British Columbia has appointed a new board chair and five new directors to the B.C. Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) board of directors, effective Aug. 8, 2018.
Ian Aikenhead, QC, has been appointed PavCo chair. Aikenhead was the president of the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) from 1992 to 2001, helping lead the PNE to increased community connection and financial success. He has practised law in East Vancouver for over 40 years and has been involved in board governance, both as a lawyer and volunteer.
New board directors are Carla Guerrera of North Vancouver, Rod Harris of North Saanich, Dan Cahill of Campbell River, Flavia Coughlan of Port Coquitlam and Gwen Point of Chilliwack. Jatinder Rai of Vancouver has been reappointed as board director.
Lisa Beare, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, thanks previous PavCo board chair Stuart McLaughlin and outgoing directors Michael J. Ballingall, Theresa Breining, Elizabeth Model, Raghvir (Ron) Mundi and Frank Palmer for their service.
The mandate of the B.C. Pavilion Corporation is to generate economic and community benefit for the people of British Columbia through prudent management of public facilities.
