The public is invited to attend drop-in information sessions in Tofino and Ucluelet about upcoming improvements to Highway 4 at Kennedy Lake. 

Ministry staff will be at the open houses to answer questions and receive feedback. For those unable to attend, information presented will be posted prior to the first open house at: www.gov.bc.ca/highway4kennedyhill

The Highway 4 Kennedy Hill safety improvement project is located 14 kilometres east of the Tofino/Ucluelet junction and involves:

• widening the travel lanes and shoulders;
• installing roadside barriers between the highway and the lake;
• straightening and flattening the road;
• removing the overhanging rock, which is a hazard for taller vehicles such as commercial trucks;
• reducing rockfall onto the highway; and
• providing a new rest area with a viewpoint.
