Drivers are advised to expect short nighttime delays from Highway 33 to Edwards Road, as construction has resumed on the Highway 97 six-laning project.
Evening work will take place on the highway between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., and additional work on Sexsmith Road, Findlay/Loyd Road and Penno Road will happen during the day, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Occasional slowdowns and short closures will occur throughout the remainder of the work, which is expected to be completed this summer.
The Highway 97 six-laning project includes 4.5 kilometres of widening to six lanes, and improvements to four intersections. This work will improve safety, increase capacity and efficiency and will better connect Kelowna’s downtown core with surrounding areas.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure appreciates people’s patience while construction is taking place. It would like to remind drivers to obey traffic control when travelling through the work area, and to check DriveBC.ca for updates: www.DriveBC.ca
