Starting Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, construction work along Highway 4 near Kennedy Hill will require two one-hour daytime road closures.
From Sept. 18 to Sept. 22, and from Sept. 25 to Oct. 4, Highway 4 will be closed to traffic at Kennedy Hill from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The daytime one-hour stoppages will continue throughout the off-peak season (September 2018 to June 2019), excluding long weekends.
There will be an extra closure on Sept. 30 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. for BC Hydro relocation work. Please note a full regional power outage is scheduled for Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. BC Hydro will be advising affected customers.
Drivers are advised that the current nighttime closures will continue. For a full schedule of stoppages, visit: www.gov.bc.ca/highway4kennedyhill

The ministry thanks everyone in the area for their ongoing patience surrounding this project. Drivers are reminded to watch for traffic control personnel and intermittent single-lane alternating traffic.
The traffic-stoppage schedule was based on extensive community feedback. The schedule was adjusted to provide more consistency for travel planning and to accommodate evening ferry schedules.
The Kennedy Hill Safety Improvements project includes upgrading 1.5 kilometres of the Pacific Rim Highway along Kennedy Hill adjacent to Kennedy Lake.
