A problematic intersection at the entranceway to Port McNeill is now safer, after significant upgrades were completed at Campbell Way and Highway 19.
The intersection – known locally as ‘The T’ – was redesigned and elevated after local residents raised concerns about overall visibility.
The work included raising the highway to allow drivers to have a better and unobstructed view of vehicles turning on and off the highway. Crews also repaved the intersection and painted fresh lane markings.
The final stage of installing six additional lighting fixtures at the intersection, to improve nighttime visibility, will happen shortly.
