David Eby, Attorney General, has issued the following statement on Law Week 2019:

“Congratulations to the Canadian Bar Assocation, BC Branch (CBABC) as it celebrates Law Week and the anniversary of Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Law Week is an important opportunity to draw attention to legal services that British Columbians may not be aware they have access to.

“Law Week also highlights the importance of the justice system in Canada. Here in B.C., one of our government’s biggest priorities is increasing access to justice for all British Columbians. Fair, accessible and affordable justice services support stable, happy and safe communities and families.

“I thank the CBABC for the work that it does, and encourage everyone to look into the free public events and activities that the association will be hosting during Law Week and into May.”
