Effective May 15, 2019, a new $15 fee will apply to five currently free recreation sites in the Campbell Lake area that are being upgraded to fee-for-service sites to provide better camping services.
The change means that five sites at Dogwood Bay, Loon Bay, Apple Point, Brewster Camp and Gray Lake in the Sayward Forest will be maintained more frequently and visited regularly by a site host. The fees will help offset the higher level of service and will apply to users occupying a campsite for any portion of a day or overnight.
The current existing fee-for-service sites north of Campbell Lake are Brewster Lake, Campbell Lake and Orchard Meadow.
The changes are being made to meet the demand for more certainty around campsite availability and to provide a higher level of service being requested by many users of the recreation sites. Recognizing the demand for free camping opportunities, a large number of free sites dispersed throughout the area will continue to be maintained.
