The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a wildfire burning near Highway 37, about 75 kilometres north of Meziadin Junction and four kilometres south of Bell II.
This fire was reported late in the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 7.
This smouldering ground fire covers about 10 hectares near Mehan Lake, on the west side of the highway, and is not spreading quickly. Twenty firefighters and one helicopter are currently on scene, with 20 more firefighters en route.
Smoke will likely be visible from Bell II and along the highway. Travellers are asked to use caution when passing through the area.
