Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement in honour of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement:
“As Jewish people all over British Columbia and the world gather to observe Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Hebrew calendar, I extend my wishes for an easy and meaningful fast.
“The Day of Atonement is a solemn opportunity for reflection, repentance and renewal. It is a time to take stock of our shortcomings, to forgive and ask for forgiveness, and to promise to do better in the years ahead.
“On this special day, may all British Columbians be united in their common belief in a better future. Together, we can make the world a better place. G’mar Chatimah Tovah v’Tzom Kal.”
