Drivers are advised that Exit 22A will permanently close on March 13, 2019, as part of the Lower Lynn Improvement Project that will ease congestion on the North Shore.
Westbound Highway 1 – Exit 22A to the Lillooet Road intersection – will close to make way for construction of a new Fern Street overpass that will connect Keith Road to Mount Seymour Parkway and Lillooet Road. Exit 22B to Mount Seymour Parkway will remain open to ensure traffic safety. There will be no access to Lillooet Road from this exit.
Temporary detours are in place for vehicles that are travelling north on Lillooet Road to the Lynnmour neighbourhood, Capilano University and Inter River Park. The detours will streamline traffic flow and maintain safety through this busy intersection and Highway 1.
In an effort to further reduce traffic impacts during construction, the ministry and the District of North Vancouver are investigating additional changes that may make it possible to shorten the duration or eliminate the need for detours to the Lillooet Road and Mount Seymour Parkway intersection.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and drive with caution. Road maintenance vehicles will be working on this route to ensure safe road conditions.
The Lower Lynn Improvement Project will significantly shorten commute times and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists on the North Shore.
