Drivers can expect heavy traffic volumes and delays from 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, to 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019, on the Lions Gate Bridge.
A temporary bridge cover and 13-metre approach ramps will be constructed to allow crews to safely work beneath the bridge deck on the repairs to the north tower expansion joint.
This installation work requires single-lane alternating traffic. Motorists should expect delays during this period and may want to consider an alternative route. The sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists.
This work is weather dependent. For the most up-to-date highway travel information, people should continue to check @DriveBC on Twitter and: DriveBC.ca
Once installed, this temporary cover will be safe for normal driving speeds on the corridor and drivers are encouraged to drive with the normal flow of traffic. Maintenance work is expected to be finished by October 2019.
