Drivers are advised that a new traffic signal will soon be activated at the intersection of Highway 95A and Theatre Mission Road, improving efficiency and safety for people travelling in Cranbrook.
This new signal, which replaces the existing two-way stop, is part of a $1.4-million intersection improvement project shared by the Province and City of Cranbrook.
Work also includes new turning lanes and road shoulder improvements, which will be completed next spring. Additional resurfacing work at the intersection will be carried out in summer 2020.
The traffic signal is expected to be activated by the end of December 2019.
Construction of the intersection turning lanes next spring may result in minor traffic delays. For the most up-to-date highway travel information, people should continue to check @DriveBC on Twitter or visit: DriveBC.ca
