Recreational cyclists, bike commuters and pedestrians who use the Galloping Goose Regional Trail are advised that a section of the trail will be closed at the McKenzie interchange construction site from Monday, Jan. 6, until the end of January.
The trail will be closed between McKenzie Avenue and where Burnside Road meets the trail.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to detour around the closure via McKenzie and Burnside, and cross McKenzie Avenue via the protected overhead path.
Detours will be clearly marked with signs. When necessary, traffic controllers will be present to ensure the safety of travellers and workers.
This closure is necessary to complete the installation of the sound wall along the trail.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure thanks people for their patience during this construction work.
