Drivers on the North Shore are advised that Exit 22, the Fern Street eastbound off-ramp, will be permanently closed effective Sunday, May 31, 2020.
The closure of the Fern Street exit off Highway 1 eastbound is necessary to accommodate the new Mountain Highway eastbound on-ramp merge lane. This will allow drivers to safely join Highway 1 eastbound from the Mountain Highway interchange and avoid conflict with exiting motorists.
With the closure of Exit 22, eastbound drivers travelling to Lillooet Road and Mount Seymour Parkway will need to use Exit 21, the Mountain Highway eastbound off-ramp, and take Keith Road.
When complete, the Highway 1/Lower Lynn interchanges project will improve safety, traffic flow during peak times, provide better links between municipalities and support active transportation and transit use.
