The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure detected localized ground movement on Old Fort Road on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at approximately 7 p.m.
There was no ground movement detected near residents.
As a precaution, the ministry will close Old Fort Road to all but emergency vehicles tonight.
Construction equipment and ministry technical staff remain on site.
The ministry will continue to work with its partners and the community in monitoring the situation.
Since the 2018 landslide, an automated monitoring system has been on site at Old Fort to provide continuous updates on any ground movements in the area and an operating protocol is in place to respond appropriately.
Residents are asked to report any signs of slide movement or incidents to the local maintenance contractor, Dawson Road Maintenance Ltd., which can be reached 24/7 at its emergency line: 1 800 842-4122.
