Facts about May Brown Place rentals

Monthly rents:

  • Seven rent-geared-to-income units: $500 to $570 (two bedrooms) to $600 to $660 (three bedrooms); and
  • Seven units for people with incomes between $35,640 and $73,500: $980 (two bedrooms) to 1,215 (three bedrooms).

As part of the City of North Vancouver’s mid-market rental program, all new rental developments must provide 10% of their units at below market rates.

  • At the time of its rezoning in 2017, Chard Development was granted additional density and had its community amenity contribution and development cost charges waived for helping meet the city’s rental and below-market housing needs.
  • Chard, working with the YWCA, met the 10% condition and provided deeper affordability than the city required.
  • To date, 80 new affordable market rental units have been approved under the city’s mid-market rental program.
