Justice Nitya Iyer, Supreme Court of British Columbia –

Iyer was appointed to the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Vancouver on June 14, 2017. Prior to her B.C. Supreme Court appointment, Iyer was a law professor, teaching constitutional law, administrative law and family law at the University of British Columbia. She left teaching to become a member of the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal and went on to private practice.

Born in Mumbai, India, Iyer’s family immigrated to Canada. After law school, she clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada and earned a graduate degree at Harvard University. Iyer became a Queen’s Counsel in 2016.

Linda Tynan, professional local government management consultant –

Tynan has an extensive background in local government management and has worked in B.C. communities since 2004. She has served as chief administrative officer for the District of Summerland and the Village of Nakusp and was the chief financial officer for the City of Nelson. She also held a senior management role with the Regional District of Central Kootenay.

Tynan is a former president of the Government Finance Officers Association of BC and CivicInfoBC and is a member of the Local Government Management Association and the Canadian Municipal Administrators Association. She holds a bachelor of business administration from Simon Fraser University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Anton Boegman, chief electoral officer for the Province of British Columbia –

Boegman was appointed as the chief electoral officer of British Columbia on June 1, 2018. A planning expert, he co-developed Elections BC’s unique electoral planning framework, elements of which have been adopted by other Canadian electoral agencies.

Prior to joining Elections BC in 2004, Boegman served seven years as a naval officer with the Royal Canadian Navy, was part of the initial startup administration at Royal Roads University, worked as a technology project manager in the post-secondary education field and worked privately as a management consultant.
