Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement in honour of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement:
“Today, Jewish people in British Columbia and around the world observe Yom Kippur. The Day of Atonement is a solemn time to reflect on the year that has passed and to set goals for the year ahead.
“On this, the holiest day of the Hebrew calendar, families and friends fast and pray. Once again this year, I encourage those observing the occasion to follow official health guidelines.
“May we all be united in our common commitment to a better future. I wish everyone observing Yom Kippur a Tzom Kal and a G’mar Chatimah Tovah.”
