Quartz Creek Bridge project details

The Province has committed more than $1 billion to upgrading Highway 1 between Kamloops and the Alberta border over the next three years under Budget 2020.

  • The total budget for the Quartz Creek Bridge project is approximately $123.7 million with the Government of Canada contributing up to $49.9 million through the New Building Canada Fund-Provincial Territorial Infrastructure Component-National and Regional Projects. The Province of British Columbia is providing $73.8 million.
  • The project will include:
    • replacing the existing two-lane Quartz Creek Bridge with a new 185-metre, four-lane structure to improve intersection access and achieve a 100-km/h design standard;
    • four-laning 4.4 kilometres of Highway 1; and
    • access improvements to forest service roads.
